Rye was born in woodland Washington and grew up in Silverton Oregon, so the move to Cottage Grove in 2008 after attending Mt. Hood CC and graduating from Concorde smack in the middle of downtown Portland was a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the big city. She has worked the last 15 years of her career as a dental assistant in Eugene/Springfield and Roseburg and says she never been more excited to come home to her small town to help take care of people in her own community. When she is not spending time with her work family, she can be found at the soccer field or basketball court cheering on her two boys. She and her husband enjoy doing projects around their home that has slowly over the last few years become more of a hobby farm. They have dogs,cats,chickens,ducks and goats. Her favorite days are when she can be outside in her garden with all her four and two legged friends enjoying a snack from the garden.

Haylee graduated from the LCC Dental Assisting program in 2023. She interned with Dr. Backer and has been with us ever since. When she is not at work, she enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and watching movies. Haylee never fails to bring her humor to work!

Anastacia has been a part of the “family” for years but officially joined our team in 2023! She has been in dental for about five years and takes pride in bringing smiles to every patient who walks through the door! When not at work, she enjoys being outside and spending time with her family and fur babies.  When filling in at our Cottage Grove office, she feels right at home since she graduated from Cottage Grove High School.

Emily began working with Dr Backer in February of 2007 as a dental assistant, in 2011 she made the transition to working as a front office coordinator to allow a more flexible schedule, as time went on, she transitioned into the manager position and now stays busy with both office locations. She is happily married to Brandyn and together they have a large, blended family, all of whom are very busy and active. When they can they love to travel but most weekends and evenings she will be found throughout Oregon watching her kids play soccer, volleyball and track. Born and raised in Cottage Grove she continues to be a familiar face.

Letty is a native Oregonian, and lives on the beautiful McKenzie River with her husband Gary, and two cats, Jasper & Bailey. Letty & Gary have 6 sons and 13 Grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, quilting, hiking, and fishing. Letty graduated from the LCC Dental Hygiene program in 1999 and has worked for Dr. Backer since 2005.

Terra started working for Dr. Backer in December 2013. She received her Dental Hygiene Degree from Lane Community College in 1997. Terra has lived most of her life in Lane County and is a 4th generation 'Grover'. She lives in Cottage Grove with her little family. She and her husband are passionate about supporting children and have fostered many kids throughout the past ten years. When she's not cleaning teeth you can find her getting creative and crafty or spending time with her family. 

Mylene joined our staff in Spring of 2023.

Michelle graduated from the LCC Dental Assisting program in 2007.  She has been working for Dr. Backer as an assistant since that time but has recently made the transition to the front desk.  She and her husband Jeff have 3 children, one son-in-law, and one daughter-in-law.  When not working, Michelle enjoys spending time with family, playing with her 'grand-dog', and traveling with her husband. 

Makayla has been a dental assistant working for Backer Family Dental for three years but has been in the dental field for about 7 years. Outside of work, she loves to cook, hike, and spend time with friends and family. Makayla always has a smile on her face!
